Video: Last Lap Wreck Ensues As Rhodes, Roper and Anderson Race Towards Checkered Flag at Daytona

It was the typical Daytona vocabulary for the opening race of the 2021 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, with the last lap featuring a near photo finish, and a massive crash coming to the line.

Coming off turn three, 43-year-old Cory Roper had a great lead over a wave of Toyotas after being shoved to the front on the last lap heading into turn one.

Roper was able to keep the Thorsport team of Ben Rhodes and Matt Crafton at bay and began racing closer towards an unbelievable upset.

As the field came off turn four, rookie Kris Wright slid up into Grant Enfinger, leaving Drew Dollar to push Ben Rhodes to challenge Roper.

Behind the duo, Dollar got turned into the front of the pack, setting off a nearly big wreck to end a wild night of racing. The glass slipper broke for Roper went Rhodes came charging to the outside of the No. 04 truck and beat him to the line.

Rhodes would collect his fourth NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win, calling it the biggest win of his career.

Jordan Anderson, who was in the 11th position at the start of the last lap, had a hard charge towards Rhodes and Roper, but ultimately would settle for second best for the second consecutive year. The final margin of victory was just .036 seconds.

The NIECE Motorsport duo of Ryan Truex and Carson Hocevar rounded out the top five respectively.
