A week after the chaos-filled final laps of the NASCAR Cup Series Night Race at Bristol, Kevin Harvick is still miffed with Chase Elliott. Sunday afternoon, at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Harvick was asked about the conversations that he had with the defending NASCAR Cup champion after last week’s race and Harvick compared Elliott to a nine year old.

“It was like I was talking to Keelan,” Harvick said of the heated conversations with Elliott last week. “It was identical. Like it’s 100-percent, the exact same scenario. They get hung up on one thing and you can’t speak to them about the broader picture of how the whole thing works. It was like speaking to a nine year old.”

When asked about if he is worried about the confrontation with Harvick, Elliott said absolutely not.

“No, in fact, I care less about this confrontation than I ever have any other in the past,” Elliott said. “I don’t know if that’s just time, you know being around more. Just focused on the right things a little more.”

Here is video from Bob Pockrass of Elliott addressing the situation:

Last weekend, Elliott was racing Harvick for the lead of the race, when Harvick got loose underneath Elliott. Harvick made contact with Elliott, which caused Elliott’s tire to cut down. As a result, Elliott went three laps off the pace.

Elliott would make up one lap late in the race and then would do what he could to make the rest of the race a nightmare for Harvick, who was looking to hold off Kyle Larson for the win. With help from Elliott, Larson was able to get around Harvick for the win.

Due to the way Elliott treated Harvick, who was running for the win as a lapped car, Harvick took his frustrations to Elliott following the race.
