Video: Disaster Strikes Hendrick Motorsports as Bowman’s Flat Tire Leads to Damage to Byron As Well

Holy Playoff implications. On lap 15 of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway, Alex Bowman had a right front tire go flat, which caused him to go into the wall.

While Bowman is in the wall, his Hendrick Motorsports teammate William Byron had nowhere to go and slammed the right rear of the No. 24 car into the left rear of the No. 48 car.

Both drivers, who were running inside the top-10, now find themselves in 31st and 32nd on lap 20 of the 367-lap event.
