Video: Denny Hamlin Tags Wall While Leading, Tire Blows With 23 Lap to Go

It looked like Sunday’s Buschy McBusch Race 400 at Kansas Speedway could finally be Denny Hamlin’s first win of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season. He had muscled the lead away from Kyle Larson, and with the race approaching the closing laps, Hamlin was looking good.

Then, with 24 laps to go while leading Hamlin slammed into the outside wall in turn four.

A lap later, Hamlin’s tire let go and he slammed the wall even harder.

Hamlin, who has been the Series point leader nearly all season long, will have to wait at least another race for his first victory of the season.
