NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Rookie of The Year contenders Dean Thompson, Lawless Alan, and Jack Wood, will see their first starts at Atlanta Motor Speedway go somewhat haywire, after a multi-truck accident that occurred at the start of stage three.

The accident started when Thompson’s No. 40 got loose on the inside lane, sliding up the track and into Christian Eckes, putting both trucks into the wall.

Also involved in the accident were Ryan Preece, Jack Wood, Zane Smith, Lawless Alan, and Colby Howard, all of which sustained some level of damage in the accident. However, only the Niece Motorsports teammates Alan and Thompson would retire from the race.
