We are heading into a third overtime attempt in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Performance Alliance Group 300 at Auto Club Speedway after a wild crash, which began in turns 3 and 4 while coming to the white flag.
After Sheldon Creed slammed into Stefan Parsons, Brandon Jones got spun. Jones’ car went at a very high speed toward the pit road wall. His No. 19 Toyota slammed into the sand barrels on pit road, which destroyed Jones’ car and littered the track with sand and pieces of plastic barrels.
Here is a replay of the wild crash:
"Why do you guys put barrels filled with sand at the beginning of pit road?"

Fortunately, Jones was able to climb from the No. 19 car and was evaluated and released from the infield care center following the crash.
Jones said he saw the pit road barrels coming, but just couldn’t do anything to avoid them.
“I think that was probably the worst part about all of this,” Jones explained. “Once you start spinning, you start looking to the right to see what is coming up. I got halfway caught in the grass and halfway on the pavement, and the rear tires were in the grass and I could not get anything to grip up for me to get out of that grass.
“I saw it coming, never hit the sand before. It took a ton of impact and really didn’t actually feel much of anything hitting that sand.”
