Video: Almirola, Kyle Busch Catch Air in Big Crash at End of Stage 1, Bowman Also Involved

With three laps remaining in Stage 1 of Sunday’s YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, a big crash broke out at the front of the pack when Aric Almirola drifted high to impede the run by Alex Bowman on the high side.

Bowman had a shove from Joey Logano, and seemingly caught the rear bumper of Almirola. This sent Almirola into the wall, he also made contact with Kyle Busch, which sent Busch’s No. 18 car flying in the air. Busch’s car would slam back down without flipping, but he did make contact with Ryan Blaney.

Almirola is done for the day, Bowman and Busch have severe damage. All three drivers are among the 12 NASCAR Cup Series Playoff drivers.
