Video: Air Titan Spins and Gets Stuck While Attempting to Dry Daytona

We have a new idea for a Southwest Airlines “Wanna Get Away” commercial. While attempting to dry the 2.5-mile Daytona International Speedway following a rain delay before Thursday night’s Bluegreen Duel No. 2, an Air Titan truck lost control.

And spun down the 31-degree baking in between turns 3 and 4.

And got stuck.

Here is the video, which will truly give you more appreciation of the physics involved with race cars traveling around the turns at Daytona:

It’s worth noting that it appears the trailer hitch of the truck actually pierced the track surface just below the apron from the huge impact after rolling down the banking.

This of course isn’t the first time an incident like this has happened. Last year during a rain delay at the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, another Air Titan lost control and slid down the banking. However, that spin ended a bit more smoothly than this one did.
