The No. 42 Petty GMS Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Ty Dillon, will have a fresh new look as Ferris Mowers have signed on to be the primary sponsor for the team in three races during the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season.
According to a press release from Petty GMS on Thursday, the red, black and white colors of Ferris will be plastered on the No. 42 machine at Texas Motor Speedway for the All-Star Open race on May 22nd, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course on July 31st and at Michigan International Speedway on August 7th.
In addition to the three-race primary sponsorship, Ferris Mowers will be an associate sponsor for the No. 42 team for the balance of the 2022 season and they’ll serve as an associate sponsor for Erik Jones and the No. 43 Petty GMS team for six races this season.
Dillon is excited to get behind the wheel and represent one of the leading commercial and industrial turf care equipment providers in the country.
“I’m excited to have Ferris join Petty GMS and be on our No. 42 Chevrolet for the remainder of the season,” said Dillon in the team release. “Carrying their colors during the three primary races is going to be cool. Ferris sets themselves apart by helping professional landscapers work hard and feel good, which I appreciate. I look forward to getting behind the wheel of the Ferris Chevrolet at Texas in a couple weeks.”
While it’ll be the first NASCAR Cup Series sponsorship for Dillon with Ferris Mowers, the veteran driver has had them as a partner throughout his career on the path to the Cup Series.
Dillon added an update on Facebook on Thursday, explaining that the mower brand has personally supported his career since 2013.
