Following Saturday Afternoon’s Ambetter Get Vaccinated 200 and Sunday Afternoon’s Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, a pair of crew chiefs have been handed down monetary fines by NASCAR, for failing to have all 20 lug nuts properly secured on their respective vehicles.

Todd Gordon – crew chief on the No. 12 — and Travis Mack – crew chief on the No. 99 — have been fined $10,000 by the sanctioning body for violating Section(s) 10.9.10.4: Tires and Wheels, by not having all lug nuts secured in post-race lug nut check, which occurs at the conclusion of every event at the start of pit road.

No crew chiefs from the NASCAR Xfinity Series received fines for loose or missing lug nuts on their entries.

After further review of the incident, NASCAR has decided not to hand out any further penalties to Kyle Busch, after the Joe Gibbs Racing driver made intentional contact with the pace car under the caution flag, after an accident on the seventh lap of the event was caused by a wet track. Busch continued to show his displeasure with NASCAR’s decision-making process, by causing damage to the Toyota Camry XSE pace car.

  1. I’m sorry Nascars 2 sets of rules for different drivers is BS $10,000 for loose lug nuts. But it’s ok to have a Lug Nut out there running into the Pace Car and Flipping off the Flag Stand. It’s like nascar saying it’s ok Kyle you’re right here’s your bubba of warm milk and binkie we’re sorry and promise to do better. Screw that Jacking up the Pace Car should be a Major infraction. What would of happened if he turned the pace car into the wall and injured or killed someone because he was acting like a child. Would the reaction been the same? Knowing NASCAR probably. Just pisses me off depending on how you spell your name what punishment or lack of punishment you get.
