While the numbers on the sides of the NASCAR Cup Series cars will be shifting forward in 2022 to give sponsors more usable space on the sides of the cars, Matt Crafton’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team physically ripped a sponsor logo off the hood of their No. 88 truck on lap 65 of Sunday’s In it to Win it 200 at Darlington.

While it looks like the team despises their sponsor, Ideal Door, this was not the case.
The truck began to leak oil, so Crafton brought the truck to his team to get a top off. As the crew members were lifting the hood, they realized that the sponsor decal was actually beginning to peel off.
Instead of chancing the logo becoming an aerodynamic disadvantage or worse, flying off and sticking to the windshield, they opted to take matters into their own hands.
Crafton, who started second in the race and finished second in Stage 1 and fourth in Stage 2 on Sunday, came home with a 10th-place finish sans hood sponsor logo.
