Video: Layne Riggs Assessed Two Lap “Reckless Driving” Penalty After Bump and Run on Parsons

Layne Riggs was frustrated by how he had been raced by Stefan Parsons, and on Lap 93, Riggs exacted his revenge with a nudge into the rear of Parsons’ No. 75 Henderson Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado as the duo entered Turns 3 and 4.

The contact sent Parsons sideways, and Parsons collected the outside wall with the right rear corner of his truck, before correcting it, and continuing on. However, NASCAR threw the caution flag for the incident, and under the caution they decided to hammer Riggs with a penalty.

NASCAR called Riggs’ move, which was essentially a bump and run, over-aggressive, and Riggs was tagged with a two-lap penalty as a result.

Both drivers, who found themselves inside the top-15 saw their decent runs come to an end in a matter of a few laps.
