Roper Racing Team Not Entering Daytona, Planning to Return ‘Towards Mid-Season’

Roper Racing Team, a family-owned NASCAR Camping World Truck Series operation that has fielded the No. 04 for Cory Roper since 2018, will not participate in the series’ season-opener at Daytona, a team representative tells TobyChristie.com.

The organization, which scored its first top-five result last season at Daytona, says that the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series’ new nose requirements have forced the team to re-group ahead of the 2022 campaign.

However, Roper Racing Team isn’t completely shuttering its efforts, telling TobyChristie.com that the team hopes to return to the circuit towards the mid-way point of the season.

“Our team has great equipment but [is] taking this time to shine up our fleet,” a team representative said. “We still have our strong relationship with our sponsors, and they are backing us in this re-build campaign. Roper Racing Team loves to race and that is where our heart lies. We will be back out there strong and with possibly more sponsorships moving into the 2023 season.”

Roper Racing Team competed in 19 of the 22 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events last season, with drivers Cory Roper and Chase Briscoe. The organization recorded a season-high three top-10s, at Daytona, Bristol Dirt, and Talladega.
