United States Military veteran Keith McGee has had racing on Memorial Day Weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway on his bucket list for a while and it appeared like a dream had come true for the 41-year old driver as he was slated to run the No. 43 truck for Reaume Brothers Racing this weekend.

Mcgee had secured a full slate of sponsorship from Barstool Sports, Mission22, PacBak and others. But just a couple of days before the big race, one of McGee’s co-primary sponsors backed out last minute.

McGee took to Twitter in an effort to land another sponsorship partner for the race on May 24th.

While Reaume Brothers Racing could have backed out on McGee, following the loss of the co-primary sponsor, team owner Josh Reaume posted a video on Thursday stating that the team will continue to honor their commitment to McGee despite the loss of the co-primary sponsorship.

“Unfortunately, one of his co-primary sponsors backed out a few nights ago. We’ve been working super hard to try to fill the spot, but with the race right around the corner, we’ve gone ahead and committed to it. We’re going to put Keith McGee behind the wheel. He’s a veteran. He sacrificed for our country and we support our drivers and we support our employees.”

McGee, an Alaska-native, has made a total of six starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, with a best-career finish of 10th coming at Talladega Superspeedway in the fall of 2021.

Reaume says that if the team doesn’t find another sponsor to fill in the place of the other co-primary sponsor that dropped out from the race, they will feature one of the team’s sponsorship partners.

“We have a lot of great partners, so, if we’re not able to secure the co-primary sponsorship alongside Barstool Sports, we’re going to make sure to honor one of our team sponsors. But otherwise, we’re open to people coming on.”

McGee, in addition to being a driver for RBR, is also a team employee as he heads up the team’s decal department.

“It’s right around the corner. We have our own decal department, which Keith actually runs, so I’m sure we can get the decals printed and put them on the truck.”

Reaume Brothers Racing urges anyone that would like to support McGee’s efforts this weekend as a sponsor to DM them on their social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter or Facebook).
