Raphael Lessard edged out 2011 Daytona 500 Champion Trevor Bayne for his first career NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series victory at Talladega Superspeedway, leading one lap en-route to  Kyle Busch Motorsports’ third superspeedway victory and the team’s first since 2014.

Trevor Bayne finished in second-place, followed by Chandler Smith, Ben Rhodes and Codie Rohrbaugh. Anderson, Moffitt, Crafton, Grala and Kraus unofficially rounded out the top-ten in the 94-lap event.

The race featured five caution flags, and a sixth to bring the race to its conclusion, after Stewart Friesen, Christian Eckes, Tyler Ankrum and Bayley Currey were involved in a last-lap incident entering turn three.

“The Big One” struck on lap 14 after a late block by Sheldon Creed caused a chain reaction accident in the middle of the pack, collecting 11 trucks and ending the day of playoff contender Zane Smith.

Todd Gilliland and Christian Eckes were eliminated from the championship fight, after earning 28th and 18th-place finishes respectively in Saturday’s event. Due to Chandler Smith’s top-five finish on Saturday, GMS Racing’s No. 26 Chevrolet was eliminated from the Owners Championship Playoffs.
