Kyle Busch Takes Stage 1 of Friday Night Truck Race in Las Vegas

Although he practiced slow earlier in the day (14th) and started third in Friday’s Strat 200 NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Kyle Busch stepped up and won Stage 1.

Busch led 20 of the 30 laps in the Stage in his No. 51 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota Tundra.

Christian Eckes, who drives KBM’s No. 18 truck was second in the Stage, while Johnny Sauter, Tyler Ankrum and Austin Hill rounded out the top-five in the Stage.

Raphael Lessard was sixth in KBM’s No. 4 entry.

Ross Chastain finished the Stage in seventh in Niece Motorsports’ No. 40 truck.

Brett Moffitt, Ben Rhodes and Sheldon Creed closed out the top-10 and also scored Stage points.

The only incident in the Stage came when Derek Kraus spun his No. 19 truck into the outside wall.
