Christopher Bell, who competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for Joe Gibbs Racing, will team up with TRICON Garage to compete in Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the organization announced on Monday via a press release.

The Norman, Oklahoma native will get behind the wheel of the No. 1 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for the Victoria’s Voice Foundation 200 Presented by Westgate Resorts. Mobil 1, a Toyota Racing Development partner, will sponsor the effort.

One of the most iconic brands in motorsports, Mobil 1 will have its colors prominently displayed on two of TRICON Garage’s five entries in Friday’s event, as the company will back Taylor Gray and the No. 17 Toyota Tundra for the first time in 2024.

“It’s always really fun to compete in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and I’m very excited to race with Mobil 1 under the lights at Las Vegas Motor Speedway,” said Bell. “I really appreciate Toyota, TRD, TRICON, and Mobil 1 for the opportunity, I’ve come close to the win at Vegas before in Trucks and would love to make it happen this time.”

The 29-year-old driver is a seven-time winner in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, contesting a pair of full-time campaigns for Kyle Busch Motorsports in 2016 and 2017, the second of which resulted in a series championship.

Since advancing up into the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and eventually the NASCAR Cup Series, Bell has only returned to the Truck Series on three occasions, including a pair of events last season for Hattori Racing Enterprises in which he recorded a season-best fourth-place result at Pocono Raceway in July.

Having qualified for the Championship 4 in back-to-back seasons, Bell has grown into a superstar at NASCAR’s top level, recording six victories in 146 starts. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver also recorded an impressive 17 victories in a two-year stint in the Xfinity Series.

Bell joins Toni Breidinger, Colby Howard, and William Sawalich as the drivers currently announced to pilot the No. 1 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro in the NASCAR Truck Series this season, which through the opening two races of 2024 has a best finish of 17th at Atlanta.
