Stewart Friesen may have been frustrated with how he was raced by others in Saturday’s NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series event at Martinsville Speedway, but he took it out on the field in the Eastern States 200 at Orange County Fair Speedway in New York on Sunday night.
Friesen, who was busy with his NASCAR obligations, took a past-champion’s provisional to start 44th in the 200-lap big-block modified dirt track event.
When the race began, Friesen used the top lane of the track to pick off car after car, according to Dirt Track Digest.
Friesen would work his way from the back to the lead by lap 129. Friesen set sail from there and collected his second-consecutive victory in this race.
For his efforts, Friesen took home a $40,000 check.
He should have a little spring in his step when he arrives in Phoenix in a couple of weeks.
