Sheldon Creed won Sunday’s NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series Sunoco 159 at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course in a wild green-white-checkered duel with his GMS Racing teammate Brett Moffitt.

While Moffitt was better in the turns, Creed was smoother in gaining momentum off of the turn to build speed in the oval portions of the track.

Creed, who led a race-high 19 laps, now has two-career wins in NGROTS competition.

Rookie contender Raphael Lessard finished an impressive third.

Championship contenders Matt Crafton and Austin Hill were fourth and fifth in Sunday’s race.

Tyler Ankrum, Grant Enfinger, Parker Kligerman, Scott Lagasse Jr. and Stewart Friesen rounded out the top-10 finishers.

Christian Eckes was running in front of Friesen on the charge to the checkered flag, when Friesen got into the back of the No. 18 truck. This sent Eckes into the grass, which destroyed the front end of Eckes’ truck.

After climbing from the truck, Eckes appeared to be favoring his foot or leg, and he laid in the grass until the medical team arrived. At this time, no other information is available on Eckes, but he did get into the ambulance under his own power.
