Ryan Sieg has had a couple of tough weeks in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, with mechanical issues relegating the No. 39 to some poor finishes over the last couple of weeks. Saturday at Homestead-Miami Speedway, the No. 39 CMR Roofing Chevrolet turned their luck around with a smart strategy call.

Sieg’s No. 39 pitted under the lap 20 competition caution along with Alex Labbe, Kyle Weatherman, Joe Graf, Jr. and others, putting them on new tires for the final stint of stage one.

Sieg rocketed to the lead on the restart, winning stage one of the Hooters 250 by over three seconds.

Ross Chastain, Noah Gragson, Austin Cindric, Alex Labbe, Kyle Weatherman, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Justin Haley, Brandon Jones and Joe Graf, Jr. all finished in the top-ten in stage one, earning valuable stage points.

One disadvantage to the strategy call for the No. 39 team is that if we get a caution in the final stage Sieg, Weatherman, Labbe, Graf and all the others that pitted for tires on lap 20 will be down a set of tires, which have proven to be very important.
