It looks like Stewart-Haas Racing and Kevin Harvick will continue to be a formidable combination for years to come, as Rodney Childers has signed a multi-year extension to stay the crew chief for the No. 4 Ford Mustang.
Childers confirmed the report on Twitter, which first came from Adam Stern of Sports Business Journal on Monday.
Well, not sure how this got out. It’s been a while back and I have tried to keep that stuff private. But obviously I’m very happy to continue with the 4 team and @KevinHarvick .. I’m very fortunate to work with so many great people and have such a great group of guys. https://t.co/5Pcu8Jrsg9

Childers has been considered one of the best crew chiefs in the garage since moving to SHR in 2014. In his first season with the team and with Harvick as his driver, they won the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series championship.
The pairing is still very much alive in the Round of 12 currently of the 2019 Playoffs.
Harvick and Childers have won three races this season, and in their nearly six years together they have amassed an impressive 25 victories.
