Riley Herbst will return to competition in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in Friday Night’s BrakeBest Brake Pads 159 at Daytona International Speedway’s Road Course.

Herbst – who drives for Stewart-Haas Racing full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series — will pilot the No. 17 Factory Canopies / Lincoln Welders Ford F-150 for David Gilliland Racing, in order to get additional track time on the 3.61-mile road course. The agreement between Herbst and DGR is currently scheduled to be a one-race deal.

Seth Smith will serve as the crew chief for Herbst’s Ford F-150, rather than Chad Johnston – who was on the pit box for David Gilliland at Daytona, and will do so when Taylor Gray contests his seven starts in the series, later this year.

In eight starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Herbst has accumulated a top-five and three top-10 finishes, with a best-finish of third-place. In 2018, when DGR-Crosley still fielded Toyota’s, Herbst ran a pair of events for the organization at Bristol and Phoenix, scoring two top-15 finishes.
