Retired NASCAR Crew Chief Cole Pearn Now Owner of Ski Lodge in Canada

In a new interview with the Toronto Sun, Cole Pearn reveals that he has slipped into ownership of a Canadian ski lodge now that his career atop the pit box in NASCAR is complete.

According to the story, Pearn is now the proud owner of Golden Alpine Holidays, which is a country skiing and hiking vacation outfit close to Golden, B.C.

Pearn’s decision to step down as Martin Truex Jr.’s crew chief this offseason came as a huge shock to the NASCAR community.

In four of the last five seasons, Pearn had guided Truex to the Championship 4, and in 2017 the duo won the NASCAR Cup Series title together. In 2019, the two appeared ready to take championship No. 2, but a mistake on a pit stop doomed their chances. Still, they ended the year second in the championship standings.

In the interview, Pearn continues to echo that he left the grind of the NASCAR Cup Series to spend time with his family.

“I’ve missed a lot of years already with my kids,” said Pearn, a father of two. “I’ve had a ton of great memories when we do get time together, but that day-to-day life, they’re not used to me being there, so for me I felt like the window was closing. I think once they’re teenagers they probably won’t want anything to do with me. If I was going to be part of their lives, the window was now. I think that really pushed us to make the decision as early as we did.”
