Report: Wood Brothers Racing Back in the Race Team Alliance

According to Sport Business Journal’s Adam Stern, Wood Brothers Racing — the longest tenured team in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series garage — has returned to the Race Team Alliance.

If you remember, when the No. 21 team was not awarded a Charter in 2016 when the Charter system first came into place it opted out of the Race Team Alliance. Now it has chose to opt back in.

According to the report from Stern it costs a mid five-figure annual fee to join the RTA. The Race Team Alliance works on securing sponsorship for the front quarter panels of cars which was once only for NASCAR contingency partners. Now the RTA brokers deals with companies to place logos there on all RTA affiliated cars.
