Pocono Raceway, which has usually been a piece of the schedule that fans have snoozed through, has become quite intriguing for the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Both Pocono Raceway Cup Series dates will be contested on the same weekend, and drivers will use the same cars and motors in both races.

Tuesday, Pocono Raceway revealed the race lengths for the two events which

The first race, which will be run on Saturday, June 27th, will be 130 laps (or 325 miles). The Sunday event will be 140 laps (or 350 miles). These races have been 400-mile events run on separate weekends in years past.

What this means is that cars will have to last 675 miles over the two Pocono races next season. The previous longest race distance on one race car has been 600-miles, which happens each year in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte.

No word on official plans of what happens if a team has to switch to a backup car or motor between the two races, but it is expected teams will start at the rear of race two for that.
