Parker Retzlaff, an 18-year old standout from the ARCA Menards East Series, has officially signed a part-time deal with RSS Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for 2022.

“We are excited to welcome Parker and his partners to the RSS Racing team in 2022,” offered RSS Racing team owner Rod Sieg. “We feel we have all the resources in place to run a competitive multi-car team in the Xfinity Series and look forward to building our program for the future.”

According to a press release from RSS Racing, Retzlaff, who hails from Wisconsin, is expected to compete in at least 10 NASCAR Xfinity Series races this season beginning with Phoenix Raceway on March 12th.

Retzlaff will also serve as the teammate to Ryan Sieg at Richmond (April 2nd), Martinsville (April 8th), Dover (April 30th), Nashville (June 25th), Atlanta (July 9th), Pocono (July 23rd), Kansas (September 10th), Bristol (September 16th) and the final race of the year at Phoenix (November 5th).

Retzlaff feels the 10-races lined up for him give him a true chance to shine in 2022.

“This is an incredibly humbling opportunity for me next season,” said Retzlaff in the release. “I realize this is a huge next step for my career, but I believe with the support of RSS Racing and the Sieg family, the transition can be seamless and I can help the organization build their second car into a top-notch program.

“I feel very confident in my ability as a race car driver and with the tracks that we have laid out for my rookie season. I believe that we can turn some heads and make significant gains start to finish that can help us build on hopefully a full-time program in 2023.”

Retzlaff scored nine top-10 finishes in 12 starts in the ARCA Menards East Series over the last two seasons. Retzlaff’s best finish in ARCA East was a fourth-place effort at Southern National Motorsports Park in 2021.

Ponsse, Eco-Tracks and Iron Horse Loggers, who supported Retzlaff in ARCA competition, will once again be sponsorship partners for the young racer as he steps into the NASCAR National Series ranks.

RSS Racing will reveal additional details on the deal with Retzlaff, including car number, crew chief and more sponsorship partners at another time.
