Ryan Vargas will be making his third NASCAR Xfinity Series start of 2019 this weekend at ISM Raceway at Phoenix.

The 19-year old will drive the No. 4 Chevrolet Camaro SS for JD Motorsports, the same team that gave the driver his first two starts in the series earlier this year.

Vargas has racked up top-20 finishes in his two previous starts. He was 17th at Iowa and 18th at Road America a few months back.

Vargas ran the entire 2018 NASCAR K&N Pro East schedule and racked up six top-10 finishes in 14 races. Vargas ended the season sixth in the championship standings.

Now, Vargas looks to attack the 1-mile oval in the desert.

For the California native, this will feel almost like a home game.
