On Wednesday morning, NASCAR officially unveiled schedules for both the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, which will feature new venues and returns to previous facilities.

As initially reported by The Athletic, Portland International Raceway has been added to the NASCAR Xfinity Series schedule in 2022, with the event taking place on Saturday, June 4th, while the NASCAR Cup Series heads to World Wide Technology Raceway for the first time ever. The move is the culmination of a long-sought return to the Pacific Northwest, which is viewed as an untapped market.

“For the NASCAR Xfinity Series and Camping World Truck Series, we loved the idea of being able to deliver new road courses to both schedules and a short track for the Camping World Trucks while still returning to our traditional venues and the new tracks we introduced in 2021,” said Ben Kennedy, NASCAR senior vice president of strategy and innovation. “Not only do these changes continue to deliver on what our fans are asking for, but we feel they will create even more drama and intensity as drivers battle to win championships at Phoenix Raceway in November.”

The season will begin at Daytona International Speedway (February 19) and will continue its regular season through September, crowning the regular-season champion at Bristol Motor Speedway (September 24). The series’ playoff action will begin September 24 at Texas Motor Speedway, with elimination events at Charlotte’s ROVAL (October 8) and Martinsville Speedway (October 29).
