Justin Allgaier had a consistent 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series season. However, for the bulk of the year, his No. 7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet lacked a little bit of raw speed to be considered a true week-in and week-out race win contender.

However, when Allgaier broke through for his first win of the year at Phoenix to punch his way into the Championship 4 at Homestead, there was some hope that perhaps the 33-year old could snag that elusive first series championship.

However, it wasn’t to be. Allgaier didn’t have the speed to match Reddick, Custer and Bell all race long and in the closing portion of the race he slapped the wall and cut a tire and had to make an unscheduled pit stop. Allgaier would finish a disappointing 14th, and he would try to hold back his frustration after climbing from his car.

But then, one of the most heart-warming moments of the season occurred when his daughter Harper came up and gave her father a warm hug.

That’ll take some of the sting of Saturday’s loss away.
