Jeb Burton will end a four-year run driving for Jordan Anderson Racing, as he will move to RSS Racing for the 2027 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season. According to a Tuesday announcement from Burton, he’ll pilot the No. 22 Chevrolet for the organization next season.
The No. 22 is a number formerly used by his father, Ward Burton, when he drove for Bill Davis Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series.
As of now, RSS Racing hasn’t provided additional details about the No. 22 entry, including whether it will take the place of one of the team’s current entries (No. 28, 38, or 39) or if it will be a new entry altogether, or who will serve as the crew chief for the effort.
The 34-year-old racer, who has two career wins in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, expressed that he feels the Sieg family is building something special.
“The Sieg’s are building something special and the performance is headed in the right direction,” Burton said in a post shared to social media. “I’m grateful and excited about this opportunity.”
Burton, who has amassed 236 starts in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series over his career, which spans back to the 2013 season, collected his first career victory while driving for Kaulig Racing at Talladega Superspeedway in 2021.
After moving to Jordan Anderson Racing’s program in 2023, Burton nabbed his second career win in his opening season as the driver of the No. 27 Chevrolet. Again, the win came at Talladega Superspeedway.
To date, Burton has scored 15 top-five finishes and 51 top-10s in addition to the two victories in his NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series career. With five races remaining in the 2026 campaign, Burton ranks 21st in the championship standings.
Prior to moving to the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, Burton was a standout in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, where he scored a win and seven poles in his rookie campaign in 2013. After sponsorship dried up in the offseason leading into the 2014 season, Burton moved from Turner Motorsports to ThorSport Racing, where he underwhelmed in his one season behind the wheel of the No. 13 truck.
After several years of trying to find his footing in the NASCAR National Series, Burton finally scraped together enough sponsorship for a full-time run in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series in 2021, where he has remained ever since.
Burton will look to take a step forward next season, driving for RSS Racing, which captured a victory with Ryan Sieg earlier this season at Daytona International Speedway.
