Just about everyone was a little hot under the collar after Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Tennessee Lottery 250 at Nashville Superspeedway as extreme heat pushed the temperatures inside the cockpits of the cars upwards of 130-140 degrees. But John Hunter Nemechek kept his cool as he led a race-high 76 laps and scored the win ahead of Chandler Smith.

After the win on the scorcher of a day, Nemechek’s race-winning No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Pye-Barker Fire Safety Toyota GR Supra made the customary trip to the post-race inspection bay, where the car received a passing grade from NASCAR Xfinity Series officials. As a result, NASCAR delcared Nemechek and his No. 20 team the official winners of the race.

Officially, this is the second NASCAR Xfinity Series win of the year for Nemechek, who is a full-time NASCAR Cup Series driver for LEGACY MOTOR CLUB, and it is the 11th win of Nemechek’s NASCAR Xfinity Series career.

There were no issues in post-race tech, which means all results and standings following Saturday’s race are now considered official.

Chandler Smith, Nemechek’s Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, finished runner-up as he was 0.366-seconds behind Nemechek. Rookie contender Jesse Love continues to impress as he finished third, Austin Hill was fourth, and Noah Gragson rounded out the top-five finishers.
