On Saturday, Aric Almirola overcame tons of adversity to win the NASCAR Xfinity Series Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway.

Almirola had the fastest car throughout the entire afternoon but only managed to lead 16 laps, including the final four after taking the lead from defending NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Cole Custer.

Following the win, NASCAR inspected Almirola’s race-winning No. 20 Joey Gibbs Racing He Gets Us Toyota Supra with a fine-toothed comb. Following post-race tech, the No. 20 machine was deemed legal. As a result, Almirola and his team were officially named the winners of the Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway.

This is officially Almirola’s second win of the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series season and it is the 40-year-old Florida native’s sixth win of his car.

No issues were detected in post-race inspection, which means all results and standings following Friday night’s race are now considered official.

Cole Custer was officially named the second-place finisher ahead of Chandler Smith, Connor Zilisch, and Sheldon Creed rounded out the top five. Brandon Jones, Austin Hill, Shane Van Gisbergen, Jesse Love, and Riley Herbst rounded out the top-10.

The No. 9 and No. 97 had one loose lug nut, which will result in a mid-week monetary fine.
