As previously announced on March 21, Dale Earnhardt Jr. will return to Bristol Motor Speedway for his one-off NASCAR Xfinity Series race as the driver of the No. 88 Hellmann’s Chevrolet Camaro for JR Motorsports.

On Thursday, JR Motorsports revealed the paint scheme that Earnhardt will take to the track this year. And, it’s a damn good-looking race car.

JR Motorsports first revealed the paint scheme on social media. The post on the team’s X account stated, “It’s Mayo Baby. @DaleJr’s No. 88 @Hellmanns Camaro for Bristol is here.”

The scheme was designed by Ryan Williams, JR Motorsports’ creative director. The car features a Hellmann’s blue base color with white and yellow accents throughout the scheme. Behind the front and back wheels of the car on both sides are jars of Hellmann’s mayonaise.

For Earnhardt, a NASCAR Hall of Famer, there is unfinished business at Bristol Motor Speedway. Last year, Earnhardt led 47 laps at the 0.533-mile short track in Tennessee and was among the leaders in the closing laps of the NASCAR Xfinity Series race in September when disaster struck.

A fire broke out in the cockpit of Earnhardt’s No. 88 Chevrolet Camaro, which led to the leg of his firesuit becoming singed.

Earnhardt would pull the car to pit road, where he would receive help from the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing team on climbing from the car.

What could have been a win ended up with a 30th-place DNF. Earnhardt’s official reason for dropping out of the race was an “Ignition” problem. He’ll look to avenge that disappointment in September at Bristol.
