Man, it’s been a rough road to Kansas Speedway for NASCAR teams this week.
A report from Go Fas Racing’s hauler driver Ron Utter — known as Captain Ron — states that the No. 47 JTG Daugherty hauler, which is carrying cars for Ryan Preece for this weekend’s race at Kansas Speedway has caught fire.
“Quite the eventful evening apparently, because now we are hearing that the 47 has burnt up somewhere,” Utter’s co-driver says just minutes into his live stream on October 17th, after talking about the Kaulig Racing hauler crash.
Later in the stream, Utter states that the fire occurred in Illinois.
Utter live streams his rides to the track on his YouTube channel RightyTightyLeftyLucy.
JTG Daugherty Racing confirmed the report with a statement via social media:

The No. 47 team is locked in a battle for the NASCAR Rookie of the Year honor. Currently, Preece sits 17 points shy of Daniel Hemric, who leads the standings, but has been chipping away points week-by-week. This is obviously a less than ideal start to the weekend for JTG Daugherty Racing.
