Alvin Kamara, NFL Running Back, And NASCAR Growth and Engagement Advisor Arrested on Battery Charges

Alvin Kamara, who is the running back for NFL’s New Orleans Saints and NASCAR’s Growth and Engagement Advisor, was arrested in Las Vegas by the Las Vegas Police Department on Saturday, February 6th.

Kamara, 26, was taken into custody, where he was booked on charges of battery resulting in substantial bodily harm.

According to a statement from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, “on February 5th at appoximately 5:50 PM, the LVMPD patrol officers were dispatched to a local hospital where a person was reporting a battery.” According to the press release, the victim reported to being battered at a nightclub located in the 3500 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard.

The LVMPD states an investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

Kamara is tied for most rushing touchdowns in a single NFL game with six, and he has already amassed 4,248 yards rushing in just five seasons in the NFL. Kamara was in Las Vegas for the NFL Pro Bowl, a game where Kamara played on Sunday and made four catches for 23 yards. Kamara’s NFC team lost in a 35 to 41 contest against the AFC.

Kamara was named NASCAR’s Growth and Engagement Advisor on June 20, 2021. Since taking on the role, Kamara has worn a special helmet visor in pre-game warmups, which features the NASCAR logo.

An attempt to reach NASCAR for a statement on the arrest of Kamara has gone unanswered at the time of this story being published, but will be added in if a statement is provided.
