NASCAR Breaks Their Own Record With eNASCAR Television Ratings From Virtual Texas

Timmy Hill took a thrilling victory in Sunday’s iRacing eNASCAR Pro Invitational Series event at the virtual Texas Motor Speedway after shoving William Byron out of the way in the closing laps. The exciting virtual race yielded even higher ratings for FOX than the event two weeks ago at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

According to ShowBuzz Daily, Sunday’s race drew a 0.81 rating and generated 1.34-million viewers. This race was simulcast on FOX and FS1.

This breaks the record for the most watched eSports event on United States Television, which was set by the race at virtual Homestead. That event had a 0.53 rating and 903,000 viewers.

The only sporting feature on television that produced higher ratings than the virtual Texas race this past week was WWE Smackdown, which airs on FOX on Friday nights. That event scored a 1.45 rating and had 2.37-million viewers.

The Pro Invitational Series will continue again this week at the virtual Bristol Motor Speedway.

  1. I enjoyed the first race more, though. The announcers were funnier. This Sunday they were too serious for me……I still watched every lap, and there were fewer wrecks, but Mike Joy and Jeff Gordon did not laugh as much and Clint was quieter, too. Just sayin’

    1. I thought the jabs between Larry Mac and Bowyer this past Sunday were funny. Bowyer complaining about having to go through other cars to get in his pit box, and Larry Mac responding with: “But Clint, you’ve been driving through cars your entire career.”
