Matt Tifft had some sort of medical issue that required him to be sent to a local Martinsville hospital on Saturday. After having tests run at the hospital, Tifft was sent home.

Saturday evening, Tifft took to Twitter to give a brief update to his fans.

Tifft didn’t give any indications of what sent him to the hospital, but he did say that he is at home resting. Tifft will have follow up appointments soon, and depending on how those follow ups go, will more than likely determine if he gets back in the car next week or any of the three weeks left in the 2019 season.

Tifft has been ruled out of returning to the track this weekend.

Matt Crafton is sitting in for Tifft this weekend, while the 23-year old driver works on getting back healthy.

Crafton was 31st-fastest in Cup Series qualifying on Saturday. Tifft sits 30th in the driver standings heading into Sunday’s race.
