Matt Crafton Suffers ECU Failure Late in Stage 2, Loses Eight Laps

Matt Crafton looked like he was set up to cruise to the Stage 2 win. He was set to be the leader with around 16 laps left in the Stage. However, while running around under caution, his No. 88 truck lost power.

After getting a push back to the pit lane from, Crafton’s team went to work trying to diagnose the issue. They swapped batteries out, that didn’t do the trick. They then opened up the body work on the truck bed and kept tweaking things.

Turns out the issue was the ECU in the car failed.

With eight laps left in the Stage, the team finally got the issues squared away, but he was eight laps down in 29th.

Crafton and company nearly went from first to last that fast. Now, the championship hopes for Crafton have taken a huge hit.
