Martin Truex Jr. – driver of the No. 19 Auto Owners Insurance Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing — will have to start at the rear of the field for Sunday’s Quaker State 400 presented by Walmart, after his car failed pre-race technical inspection multiple times on Sunday Morning.
Truex was scheduled to roll off inside the top-five, in fifth-place, but will now be required to drop to the back on the pace laps.
According to a report from Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports, Truex suffered two different issues in his passes through inspection, with the first failure being assigned to the deck lid on the No. 19 being too high. On the second time through, the tail of the Toyota Camry was out of compliance.
Truex issue was deck lid too high on first time and then when fixed that, tail was out of compliance. Team going through on third try now. Will have to drop to the rear.

At this time, no other cars have had multiple failures, therefore no other drivers are scheduled to start at the rear.
