MARTINSVILLE, VIRGINIA – OCTOBER 26: Todd Gilliland, driver of the #4 Mobil 1 Toyota, is congratulated by Kyle Busch, driver of the #18 M&M’s Halloween Toyota, in Victory Lane after winning the NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series NASCAR Hall of Fame 200 at Martinsville Speedway on October 26, 2019 in Martinsville, Virginia. It is unknown if Kyle Busch had actually heard what Todd Gilliland said on the radio after he won Saturday’s NASCAR Hall of Fame 200 at Martinsville Speedway — as Busch was getting ready for Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series qualifying.

However, whether he had heard the comments or not, after Gilliland fired off a tirade against Busch coming to victory lane after he crossed the finish line for his first-career win, Busch did indeed stop by victory lane to congratulate the 19-year old Kyle Busch Motorsports driver on his first-career win.

If Busch did hear the comments, it appears he shrugged them off and understood where Gilliland was coming from. Busch has been very critical of the driver’s performance in 2019.

If he didn’t hear them though, this makes for a very odd photograph.

Gilliland sounded a bit remorseful about his comments in his post-race media availability and chalks it up to being in the heat of the moment.
