Kody Vanderwal will not get back behind the wheel of Jimmy Means Racing’s NASCAR Xfinity Series entry in 2021, the driver announced on his Facebook page on Sunday.

The LaSalle, Colorado-native made 30 starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series last season, after being recruited by Jimmy Means Racing to pilot the organization’s No. 52 Chevrolet Camaro full-time. Vanderwal earned a season-high 19th-place finish at Pocono Raceway in June.

In the post, Vanderwal says: “Jimmy Means had asked and wanted [Vanderwal] to return as his driver; but after more than three years of trying to secure partnerships/sponsors, we have yet to obtain any full-time commitments. Unfortunately, we can no longer pursue this journey without one/some, and Jimmy Means Racing was forced to seek out other options.”
