Stage 1 of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Henry 180 at Road America was odd. It was hard for drivers to get into a rhythm as the race was stopped by lightning and red flagged for over an hour and a half, and rain was a factor in the closing laps of the Stage.

However, it was Justin Haley in Kaulig Racing’s No. 11 machine that stepped up to take the Stage 1 win.

Austin Cindric, who led a Stage-high 11 laps, was second, Chase Briscoe finished third, Ross Chastain ended the Stage in fourth and road ace Andy Lally was fifth in Our Motorsports’ No. 02 car.

Justin Allgaier, Michael Annett, Josh Bilicki, Jade Buford and RC Enerson rounded out the top-10 in Stage 1.

The race has been relatively clean so far, aside from some mechanical issues that have slowed the race three times.

Bayley Currey had his car come to a smoking halt on lap 1, which brought out the caution. Daniel Hemric’s motor expired on lap seven, which put fluid on the track. And Vinnie Miller’s No. 5 machine had a mechanical failure, which brought his car to a stop on lap 11.

Nearly every team was on rain tires at the end of Stage 1.
