Heading into the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, Jeffrey Earnhardt’s 2020 plans were still very flexible, with the announcement coming that Earnhardt was a part of JD Motorsports’ crowded lineup, Earnhardt had a secured commitment of at least twelve races, split between the team’s No. 0 and No. 15 Chevrolet Camaros.

Now, with the assistance of Earnhardt’s partners Kids First Community, FlexFit and others to be announced at a later date, along with the support of JD Motorsports backer Contec, the 30-year-old’s plans for the reaminder of the season include driving the No. 0 Chevrolet Camaro in all twenty-seven of the remaining events in the NASCAR Xfinity Series season.

Originally, Earnhardt’s first race was scheduled to take place at Atlanta Motor Speedway, but the COVID-19 outbreak forced NASCAR to reschedule Atlanta’s race weekend, along with the subsequent events over the next eight weeks.

When the series was ready to return to racing at Darlington Raceway, it was revealed that David Starr would not be returning to the seat of the No. 6, due to funding issues resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. With Starr out of the No. 6, an additional seat was open for the remainder of the 2020 season. B.J. McLeod, the driver scheduled to share the No. 0 with Earnhardt this season, has since filled the void in the lineup for JD Motorsports, leaving the No. 0 to be filled by Jeffrey Earnhardt.

Earnhardt currently sits 33rd in 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Driver Point Standings, after running two out of the six races thus far in 2020. JD Motorsports’ No. 0 currently sits 24th in the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series Owner Standings.

Earnhardt will look for his first career NASCAR Xfinity Series victory this season, as well as the first victory for JD Motorsports in the team’s NASCAR Xfinity Series tenure.

Author’s Note: A press release published by JD Motorsports yesterday places Mike Wallace in the No. 0 at the Indianapolis Road Course, but at this time the situation has not been clarified. Further updates will be provided if nexessary.
