James Davison and Rick Ware Racing totally destroyed the field (again) in Wednesday Night’s eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series event on the streets of Downtown Chicago, the first race of any kind on a street course in NASCAR – albeit on iRacing and not in real life.

The Australian bested Rick Ware Racing teammate Josh Bilicki by a gap of over 54 seconds, with Justin Haley, Garrett Smithley and Martin Truex Jr. rounding out the top-five. Timmy Hill, Matt DiBenedetto, Ross Chastain, Quin Houff and Joey Logano rounded out the top-10.

Davison led every single lap of the 51-lap event, which featured an immense amount of crashing and attrition, to the point where nearly half the field was unable to finish the event, due to the fact that they used both their resets early in the event.

In fact, iRacing expert William Byron, used his first of two quick repairs on the first lap of the race, although it wasn’t very quick as the No. 24 Axalta Chevrolet spent the next 15 minutes on pit road. For Byron, the remainder of the event was spent trying to gain track position on cars who had retired from the event.

There were… a lot of incidents, which took out… a lot of drivers. Cole Custer, Brad Keselowski, Kyle Larson, Alex Bowman, Chase Elliott, Aric Almirola and many, many more retired because of incidents.

  1. I truly think it’s not to late to change the Chicago street race. The city with the highest crime rate in the country isn’t to conducive for the race.
Couldn’t you go to Chicago Raceway in Elwood it would be a lot safer?
As you can see a theft of NASCAR equipment has already take place in broad daylight!
Chicago has many hi rise hotels and condos along the race course that could lead to major security problems!
I live 60 miles from Chicago and every weekend 40-60 people are shot including police and gangs of teens loot and disrup traffic.
I love NASCAR I just don’t want to see anyone get hurt. This season has already been crazy enough don’t let it get worse
    Thank you
