After sitting out the first six races of the 2023 ARCA Menards Series West season, the reigning series champion will get the chance to hop back behind the wheel at Shasta Speedway.

Lowden-Jackson Motorsports announced that 2022 ARCA Menards Series West champion Jake Drew would be joining the team for the upcoming Shasta 150 at Shasta Speedway.

The news comes on the heels of Tyler Reif announcing he would be leaving Lowden-Jackson Motorsports and joining Central Coast Cabinets Racing for a one-race deal. He will be the wheel of the team’s No. 41 Ford.

The Fullerton, California native has been out of the car so far in the 2023 season after the closure of Sunrise Racing at the end of the 2022 season.

While it has been a minute since the 23-year-old has been behind the wheel in the West Series, he hasn’t been fully out of racing. Earlier this year, Drew made his NASCAR National Series debut at Nashville Superspeedway driving the No. 66 Ford F-150 for Thorsport Racing, finishing 12th.

“I am thrilled to have gotten the call from Lowden-Jackson Motorsports for the opportunity to return to the ARCA Menards Series West at Shasta Speedway,” Drew said. “I look forward to working with all the team members and getting another race under my belt for the 2023 season,” he added in an interview.

In his two seasons in the West Series, Drew has racked up four wins (all in 2022), 13 top-fives, 17 top-10s, and has led 482 of the 2445 laps he’s ran (19 percent of the laps he ran, he led). Last season four wins and an average finish of 4.5 was enough to push him to his first career ARCA Menards Series West title.

You can catch Jake’s return to the West Series at Shasta Speedway live on FloRacing on July 29th at 11:30 PM ET.
