NASCAR’s technical inspection process following Saturday’s Andy’s Frozen Custard 335 at Texas Motor Speedway for the NASCAR Xfinity Series has been completed.
John Hunter Nemechek’s No. 54 Romco Equipment Toyota Supra for Joe Gibbs Racing has passed all aspects of the sanctioning body’s inspection process, meaning the 24-year-old has been named the official winner of the 30th event of the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series season. For Nemechek, the victory is the first in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this season and the second of his career. The win also marks the 10th of the season for Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 54 entry, and the 183rd win in series history for the powerhouse organization.
No other major issues were discovered in the inspection process, making all NASCAR-provided results and point standings official heading into next weekend’s event at Kansas.
Brandon Jones’ No. 19 and Riley Herbst’s No. 98 had one lug nut improperly secured on the car in post-race lug nut check, which will result in the $5,000 fine to crew chiefs Richard Boswell and Jeff Mendeering in NASCAR’s weekly penalty report.
