Hamlin & Poole Starting Out Back After Failing Technical Inspection

NASCAR Cup Series drivers Brennan Poole and Denny Hamlin, will be among the drivers starting at the rear of the field for Sunday Afternoon’s Daytona 500, after both of their cars failed technical inspection twice on Sunday Morning.

Hamlin, the defending Daytona 500 Champion, will be required to give up his 21st place starting position this afternoon, having to drop his No. 11 FedEx Toyota Camry to the rear of the field to start the race.

Also failing technical inspection, Rookie of The Year Contender Brennan Poole, who will drop his No. 15 Premium Motorsports Chevrolet to the rear of the field from his designated 34th place starting spot.

In addition to starting at the rear of the field, Car Chiefs Eric Phillips [No. 11] & Mark Fordham [No. 15] were ejected from the premises today. Additionally, both cars will also lose 15 min. of practice time next weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Both cars were able to pass technical inspection on their third time through, preventing additional penalites for both race teams.
