How cool is this? Hailie Deegan, who will be moving to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2021, hopped in a 2021 Ford F-150 on Thursday and hand delivered 3,325 lbs. of turkeys to less fortunate families in Detroit for Thanksgiving.

“We put this new 2021 F-150 to the test today, I can tell you that,” Deegan said in a press release. “It is so cool to drive through Detroit and get to see the community with this huge haul of turkeys in the back, knowing that we are helping so many people today. I have never been prouder to be a part of the Ford family.”

According to a release from Ford, the 19-year old NASCAR driver helped out roughly 258 families as she delivered food to the Ford Resource and Engagement Center and Gleaner’s Community Food Bank.

Deegan is just glad to be able to help out some families in need during the holiday season.

“It is really cool to see how what we are doing today is impacting the community here in Detroit,” Deegan said. “Seeing how happy these families are to receive these gifts is awesome. It is cool to see everything that Ford is doing to give back to the community and I am just honored to be able to help with that. Seeing how grateful these families are to receive a turkey this time of year, that for many of us might seem so small, makes me feel good about being able to help out.”

Deegan, a California-native, competed full-time in the ARCA Menards Series in 2020. While she didn’t win a race, she did score a second-place finish at Daytona in February and she scored four top-five finishes and 17 top-10s in 20 starts.

Deegan finished third in the overall ARCA Menards Series point standings and was the first female driver to ever take home rookie of the year honors in the series.

At Kansas Speedway in the fall, Deegan made her NASCAR Truck Series debut. She rolled from the grid from the 34th starting spot in DGR Crosley’s No. 17 Ford F-150. She played it smart and skillfully avoided some chaos en route to an impressive 16th-place finish.
