GMS Racing Officially Announces Six-Race Truck Series Deal With Dirt Star David Gravel

On Friday, GMS Racing finally made what we all knew was happening a reality.

Dirt racing star David Gravel will move to the team’s No. 24 truck in a six-race deal, which was brokered by Jeff Gordon.

“Excited for this opportunity to run in NASCAR is an understatement,” Gravel said in a team press release. “I can’t thank Jeff (Gordon) and Mike (Beam, president of GMS Racing) enough for believing in me and putting me in this position to race Eldora and some select asphalt races. It’s going to be a challenge, but I am ready for it.”

Gravel will of course run Eldora and the other five races will be announced at a later date. Sponsorship will come from Axalta, who sponsored Jeff Gordon throughout his entire NASCAR Cup Series career.

Gravel is a 51-time feature winner in the World of Outlaws and was the 2019 champion of the Knoxville Nationals.

In addition to the six NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series starts, Gravel will also compete in the ARCA Menards Series event at Daytona in February with the KBR Development team.
