FRM Continuing Two-Car Cup Program in 2022 Without Anthony Alfredo, Still Analyzing NCWTS Program

After months of questioning, Front Row Motorsports has finally confirmed that they’ll be returning to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2022, announcing in a post-race press release that they’ll continue to field the No. 34 and No. 38 Ford Mustangs next season.

Anthony Alfredo – who joined the organization’s No. 38 Ford Mustang team for his rookie season at NASCAR’s top level — will leave the organization to explore other opportunities for next season, meaning the No. 38 will have its fourth driver in four years. David Ragan drove the entry in 2019, with John Hunter Nemechek taking over the entry for 2020.

“We would like to thank Anthony for being an outstanding ambassador of our team as well as for our No. 38 partners,” said Freeze. “He showed a lot of speed in what was very difficult circumstances. He is a true professional and we wish him nothing but success in his future racing endeavors.”

The organization has yet to determine if their NASCAR Camping World Truck Series program will continue into next season, at this time, and will have additional announcements on that program, as well as their NASCAR Cup Series program, as they become available.

The organization had a breakout season in 2022, with Michael McDowell winning the Daytona 500 in February, clinching a berth in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs, while Gilliland’s victory at Circuit of The Americas also clinched a spot for the team in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Playoffs, marking the first time the team had been involved in the post-season in both series.

“We will have a very busy next three months as we build for 2022,” concluded Freeze. “Our men and women are working hard as we usher in the next generation of NASCAR. It’s an exciting time and we are embracing the challenge and excitement.”
